Kansas City Barbeque The "Top Gun" Bar

We had the pleasure to visit the Top Gun Bar AKA Kansas City BBQ in San Diego this week. Top Gun is one of my all time favorite movies, and this bar did not disappoint. I sat in the exact same spot as Tom Cruise!!! This bar has not changed much in the 30 years since the movie was released. They have happy hour from 3:30-6:30 pm and 11 pm-1 am. The food is out of this world. We had deep fried pickles and the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese. Although you can only get beer and wine here, our bartender Chris was phenomenal! If you are ever in down town San Diego this place is a must.
