Frequently ASKED questions

Why should I hire you?

A Shot Above, is Southern California's premier bar tending and wait staff services company.  Our bartenders have been featured on the Tonight Show, and we've been selected as the staffing company for many high level venues, including The Palm Springs Film Festival, several convention centers, fairs, and celebrity parties.  We are professional, elite, and have a 5 star reputation on social networks.  We are A Shot Above the rest.
Why do you need a deposit?

Our bartenders are real world bartenders, working at places such as Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Septembers, Disneyland, Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebees, Limericks, Boondocks, M15 nightclub, Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa, and many other Hollywood and So Cal hotspots.  They often have to take the day off to work your event. The deposit insures they do not take the day off and lose money due to a cancelation. For each staff member requested, a $60 deposit is required, payable either through Credit Card or PayPal. This deposit will be credited towards your final contracted amount. The deposit is nonrefundable, unless we are unable to fulfill the contracted agreement.

Are your bartenders licensed?

The state of California does not offer official licensing for bar tenders, but our bar tenders are CERTIFIED by various certification entities, including Mixology, ServSafe, TIPS, and several local County Food and Drink Handling certifications.

What does your staff wear?
The staff wear all black professional clothes including:  black dress pants, black long sleeved dress shirt, black restaurant styled shoes, a black belt and black socks.
How do I pay the staff?
Please pay in cash. A $25 fee will be added per staff member that is not paid in cash.
What if my bartender doesn't show up?
We have never had a bartender or staff member not show up. If a bartender has to cancel for any reason, an appropriate replacement will be sent.
Do you send a contract?

Yes!

What does the bartender bring?
All bartenders will bring a bar kit that includes a tin, a glass, a jigger, a strainer, a bar spoon, an ice scoop, a knife, a cutting board, a clean towel, a wine key, lemons, limes, sugar, salt, 5 speed pourers, a rimmer and a condiment dispenser.

What if I don't want the bartender to have a tip jar out?

We allow private tips to be given in lieu of a tip jar, and the suggested amount is between $2-4 dollars per person attending the party, per bartender.

Other Fine Print:

Liability

Our bartenders are ServSafe certified, TIPS certified, San Bernardino County Food Handler Certified, and familiar with the laws and regulations regarding the serving of food and alcohol. However, you agree that your event is legal, and agree to hold our bartenders unaccountable for liability for any reasons involving your event.
