The California Strawberry Festival is among the top festivals in the nation with over 50 food booths, contests, rides and attractions, over 200 Arts & Crafts vendors, concerts, celebrity chef demonstrations, and family fun! The 2016 California Strawberry Festival in Oxnard is the perfect summer kickoff with proceeds benefiting the community in a ton of different ways. They have already raised 4.5 MILLION to benefit local charities The annual Strawberry Festival will be May 22nd until the 23rd. Here's a recipe for a delicious Strawberry Gin Fizzy drink I think everyone will enjoy. 6 beautiful strawberries 2 teaspoons sugar 4 shots gin 1 teaspoon rose water pinch of salt 1/2 cup club soda (or, to taste) First, wash and de-stem the strawberries. Next, dice the strawberries into small pieces, like 12 pieces from one berry. Tiny.Sprinkle the sugar over the top of the strawberries. Let sit for 5 minutes. Then, mash the strawberries with a fork to release their juices.Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, and then add the strawberry mixture, gin, rose water and a pinch of salt (just trust me). Shake, then divide between two glasses.Top each glass off with club soda and squeeze a lime wedge into each glass.
